We are proud to announce that we are in the final stages of purchasing The Sensitive Baker, the only gluten-free bakery in Los Angeles. Our partners in this venture are the owners of Earth Island, proprietors of Follow Your Heart and creators of Vegenaise and myriad other vegetarian products.
When the purchase is complete, we will be offering Gluten-Free products for sale at the AHO pickup site. We’ll let you know…should be very soon!

Your Canyonfood hosts, Dan & Edie Irwin, are also the local hosts for Abundant Harvest Organics, a fantastic source for great organic farm-fresh fruit and vegetables, organic dairy, meats and grains. AHO has changed the way we eat, and is the cornerstone of our diet.
AHO was developed by Vern Peterson, a 5th generation farmer in Kingsburg, CA. Vern’s vision for connecting farmers to communities is far-reaching and exciting, and is explained in detail on the video posted on the AHO website. You sign up and pay online for a weekly large or small box of produce. You can also add on grass fed beef & pork, organic pastured-raised chicken & eggs, organic grains, raw dairy products, etc. as desired (including cosmetically challenged stonefruit, great for making jam). The food is collected from a variety of participating farmers, according to what’s ripe in the fields that week, and shipped to a community pickup site near you. We have 2 local community pickups sites, one in Woodland Hills at 8:30 Saturday morning, followed by another in Topanga at 9:30. All you have to do is pick up your basket (if you can’t make it, I’ll deliver for an additional $5.00). The food is all organic, 2 days from the farm, the quality is fantastic, and the cost is well below comparable products at major markets.
The pickups become great times to visit with your neighbors and meet new like-minded people. Hosting these community pickups has become the highlight of our week. We currently have close to 300 subscribers, and everyone is thrilled. We encourage everyone to look at the website and see if it works for you.
